About the Island

This title of this site is from Gene Wolfe’s 1980 short story collection “The Island of Doctor Death and Other Stories and Other Stories”. This book permanently altered my view of reality and introduced his works to me. I’ve read Wolfe’s “Book of the New Sun” several times over the past twenty years and there is something new in it every time; I still do not fully understand what is going on in the story and probably never will.
